Tassé, Joseph
(1848-1895)
   Born in Montreal. Educated at Bourget College. Chose journalism as his profession; in 1867 became editor of Le Canada; from 1869 to 1872 associate editor of La Minerve; and a director of La Revue Canadienne. About the same period appointed assistant French translator of the House of Commons. In 1878 elected to the House of Commons for Ottawa, and re-elected 1882; member of the Senate from the province of Quebec, 1891-1895.
